10k word explosion

So unfortunately there will not be a super awesome Ender’s Game post tonight. The reason? I challenged myself to write 10k words for my NaNo novel in one day. My previous record for last year was 8k.

So today I stayed on the sofa and I wrote 1k an hour for 10 hours. I started at 8:45am and finished around 6:45pm.

I finished with 10045, giving me a running total of 18177.

Sadly this fried my brain. I noticed afterwards that I would mentally drift off yet my fingers would still be writing. It wasn’t sleep, I was conscious, but my thoughts reflected the random thought pattern on experiences just before sleep.

It was an interesting experience, and I’m sure I’m be trying to beat my record again next year.

Happy writing wrimos!

About lvadams

I grew up in Central Florida for most of my life. I was one of those strange kids who liked to catch lizards and snakes, and brought everything home from stray kittens to baby chickens and ducks. I started writing around the age of 11 and never really stopped. I now have a Bachelor's of Science degree from Auburn University and hope to get a job working with animals. Until then I keep on writing. :)
